We have a job opening for a mechanic familiar with classic car repairs. You will be working with carburetors, distributer ignition systems, light and heavy line work and electrical system diagnostics and repairs. Our shop is equipped with alignment equipment, brake lathe system, gas analyzer and engine diagnostic systems from Hunter, FMC, Snap-On. We have tire mounting and balancing equipment from Ranger and Cemb.
You would also be working with the body shop to dismantle and reassemble full and partial restoration projects. Basic computer skills for time and project management are required. A full library of technical manuals and CD Roms is available, and Alldata information system is utilized for information needed for servicing any current clients newer vehicles.
The shop currently has four techs, an office manager, and an ASE CMAT L1 Owner/Service Manager. We also have a fully staffed and stocked parts department. In addition, there is a fully equipped body shop with two employees for performing the restoration work in conjunction with the mechanical shop.
The parts department has over $125,000.00 in new inventory as well as used parts and is managed by a staff of two. Parts are re-ordered daily, so there is no waiting for parts.
Our primary car lines are British (MG, Triumph, Austin Healey, Jaguar, etc.) and some very small amount of Alfa and Fiat. Experience in these car lines is NOT a requirement, and experience in more modern cars and other car lines such as Ford, GM, Toyota, etc. is easily transferred to the these very basic automobiles.
Pay is hourly and hours are 8-5, M-F.
