Gordy’s was founded in 1955 as a boat rental and service company has grown to a diverse full-service boat company and bar/restaurant. Gordy’s Service is one of the fastest growing departments in the organization.
Gordy’s has built its reputation on excellent customer service and the Service Technician must be committed to continue the tradition of excellence and innovation. We want a service minded, boat enthusiast with an entrepreneurial spirit. It is an energized, focused, professional team environment and the customers come first. The Service Technician should work well under pressure, be organized, willing to work long hours including weekends and have a positive attitude toward staff, management, and ownership.
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Service Administration
o Perfect service every time, every customer, every day.
o Maintain neat and clean service facilities & equipment.
o Document all customer repair needs on a service repair order.
o Make sure all paperwork is complete and processed for each work assignment.
o Reach and exceed department and personal goals.
o Submit work order to Parts Department to obtain authorized parts.
o Notify Service Writer of additional work requiring authorization.
o Follows manufacturer’s warranty policies and procedures in all warranty work.
o Reviews all manufacturer service bulletins.
o Continually add suggestions for work improvement.
o Furnish own hand tools essential for the job.
o Be responsible for own work performance.
o Maintain 0 comeback status.
o Maintain 0 damage status.
o Follow company policy in using the shop for personal use.
o Ability to implement effective and efficient work procedures.
o Knowledge of customer boats and locations.
o Ensures all safety policy and procedures are strictly adhered to.
o Performs other related duties.
o Fair in all work to the associate, to the customer and to the company.
§ Personnel Administration
o Help to develop unity and teamwork with respect and positive attitude.
o Promote positive inter-department relationships.
o Project a positive company image at all times.
§ Customer Relations
o Professional appearance in dress and grooming.
o Achieve 100% customer loyalty. Help maintain no less than a 98% CSI rating for service department.
o Explore ways to better serve customers (Internal & External).
o Develop ways to communicate with customers to maintain a “personalized environment” and obtain feedback to monitor customer satisfaction. (i.e.. greeting customers, boat locations, ease of access for customer pick up, signage, etc.)

§ Sales Building

§ All major and minor mechanical repairs.
§ Prep and Rigging.
§ Accessories installations.
§ Shop Inspections.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
§ Boat service tech experience not required but preferred
§ A proven professional in the service industry.
§ Basic computer skills mandatory.
§ Product knowledge.
