I am a seasoned ASE Master Technician and was currently employed as the General Manager, Shop Manager, Service Advisor & Lead Technician at The Pit Stop Auto Repair Shop in Kearny Mesa until the owners sold the shop. My efforts took customer retention and satisfaction from 37% to over 90% during my management. Prior to that, I was a Pro Seminar Instructor and Technical Trainer, teaching Automotive Technicians of all skill levels, all across the Western United States until a recent separation due to a reduction in force. I have also owned and operated my own ASE Blue Seal of Excellence Auto Repair Shop for nearly 10 years, in Escondido, CA. I bring a great deal of working knowledge and training in the automotive industry with customer service, but many years of mechanical and engineering experience, and maintain a high degree of integrity. I am not only a diligent worker, but a team player who enjoys communicating with customers. Started using a Fluke 98II over 15 years ago, pioneered some of the diagnostic procedures utilizing labscopes, graphing multimeters and flight recording data.
Good bi-directional controls are a key issue to diagnosing cars and the newer Snap-On diagnostic gear is right there as my favorites and love using them.
Parts Sales Manager / Customer Service
•Assisting customers in finding parts and products using the electronic or paper catalogs

Managed all daily operations of 4-bay general automotive repair facility. Coordinated all daily functions of shop’s operation which includes: all telephone and email communications with customers, scheduling, estimating, invoicing and all customer service. Assign jobs to technicians and monitor work flow in busy shop, to include quality control and technical support and ongoing technical training as needed for technicians and trainees. Monitor profit margins and shop efficiency to assure financial goals are maintained in addition to monitoring the shop’s checking account, handling accounts receivable and managing the shop’s financial administration of fleet accounts and state of California Department of General Services. Evaluate technicians’ productivity and efficiency on a daily basis in addition to managing the shop’s tools, diagnostic equipment, stock and determining stocking levels, brands and vendors used. Conduct staff training for shop safety and technician professional advancement. Served as the Lead Technician, performing maintenance and repair to customer’s vehicles in addition to fleet service work, diagnostics, welding, fabrication, troubleshooting and training. Recruit and interview candidates for new employment and monitor employee performance. Refine shop’s software (Mitchell1) to streamline estimating and invoicing of repair orders. Establish social media presence online and manage automated input generated by Mitchell1. Maintain the shop’s 4 computers, network systems, printers, software, internet and Google Adwords.
