Passively Looking for Shop Foreman/Technician jobs and is willing to relocate for the right position.
I'm a very loyal and honest employee and enjoy fixing cars. I have dedicated my life to my profession and have excelled in each facet of automotive repair. My skills are not limited to one area of automotive repair as I have been focusing on general repair my entire career. I didn't want to be limited by what I know because I got into automotive repair to repair all areas of the automobile. To me, repairing is a satisfying feeling and I take great pride in my work. When I'm done repairing a vehicle, I want to customer to open the hood and feel like It wasn't worked on. My goal is that every vehicle I work on to be fixed right the first time and customer satisfaction. I was going to move to Florida, however, my family circumstances have changed. I will be staying in Wisconsin till I retire. Specifically the Fox Valley area.
I update my profile in regular basis because like most of us things change in your life and your goals change. I'm at a point in my career that I want to be more in a support roll in a shop and fewer hands on. Don't get me wrong I still want to be hands-on while in the shop, but more helping younger less experienced technicians learn the skill needed to work on modern day cars. I would like to use what I know to help a business grow with quality technicians that fix vehicles in a systematic way that produces fewer comebacks and better customer satisfaction. We all know that it's very expensive to fix vehicles and to a customer, every penny counts. That being said is why my goal is to fix every vehicle the way I would fix my parents. With the solid understanding of the system that you are working on and the right support tools, I can give the customer proper diagnoses the first time without wasting their money throwing parts at the vehicle to see what sticks.
On a personal note. What is most important to me is the quality and affordability of the family health insurance that the employer offers. Without a good benefits package, it's not worth switching jobs just for more money.
Tools and Equipment
I'm well versed on the Tech 2, GDS 2, and all GM programming procedures. I have a Snap-on Verus and Maxme scan tools. I subscribe to IATN and have used Snap-on Shopkey. I currently am using ALLDATA for all non-GM vehicle information. I am well versed in GM service information software. I'm looking for an employer that is serious about training and open to upgrading equipment to keep up with technology in the automotive repair industry. I personally have spent a lot of money to keep me up to date with an automotive repair that other than major shop equipment I could open my own shop.
