Candidate #1438 Technician in Central Lake, Michigan
Passively Looking for Manager/Technician jobs and is willing to relocate for the right position.
I have seen this automotive field in service and the way we do things for our customer change so much over the years, seems as though we lost that simple way of repairing cars and trucks these days . I have work on and repaired many vehicles in my life . Classic cars are always a joy to work on ,it reminds me of days gone by . Now we pull out our scanners and laptops to see what codes are there . And it amazes me that I have kept up on it so far . It really comes down to knowing the basics . Really haven't changed much ,just 20 modules and computer took over ,all we needed before was a set of good points in the distributor and switches ! Wow where did all the switches go ? So at this point in my career I would like help the younger tech with all this new stuff and help them with the old stuff to ,in which I am already doing . I have had my own shops in the past . Used car lot ,body shop, and repair facility ,I was a busy man for sure . I am not afraid to work ,single , ASE master tech and state of mi. Master tech 9 certs. Oh I have been to many classes and seminars too. The one I remember is the GM after market CCC COMPUTER COMAND CONTROL CLASS . Oh yeah I was a little mister know it all back when they came out with disk brakes ,19 years old . Nobody liked them mechanics where I was from where afraid of them. Not me though it was a challenge for me and I repaired all of them .
Currently I am at a Ford shop , it's OK. All warranty work and no money in that very slow shop . Low car count and tickets are low also . That's northern mi. For ya . I have a place on a nice lake up and plan to keep it going for me and my boys and grandkids. But I have traveled around a lot and moved to . So moving is alright if it's a good position .
