About the Wiki

Expert-curated. Unlike other wikis you find on the Internet, the AutoPro Wiki is curated by experts — the staff and members of the International Automotive Technicians’ Network (iATN). iATN is the world’s first and largest network of automotive professionals, established in 1995. All members of iATN must be automotive professionals with ASE certifications or at least 4 years of experience in the auto industry. On average, our 80,000 members have over 20 years of experience, and they collectively share over 1.7 million years of experience.

Unbiased. The iATN members that edit our wiki must adhere to a neutral point of view when writing about the companies, products, and services that make up the wiki. If you notice any problems with any articles, please use the Report Problem button provided on each page. Our staff and the other editors of that page will be alerted to the issue so they can address it.

Opinions Included. Another distinction between our guide and most wikis is that we provide a place for our members to review the products, services and companies detailed in the wiki. These reviews appear in a clearly marked area of each page designated for reviews. This is the appropriate place for our members to share their expert opinions on the tools and services they are writing about. Companies that enter into our advertising program have the opportunity to respond to those reviews inline (see Promotions below).

Relevant Promotions. We believe our wiki is enhanced by the tasteful and relevant promotions offered by companies with which we have partnered. We have a program in place that allows companies to promote the pages that appear in the guide that are related to their company, products and services. These promotions are clearly marked with green text and graphics. High standards are upheld for participating companies, and their promotions. Our goal is to provide our members and viewers with useful information and beneficial offers. These clearly marked promotions are not required to be neutral, but they cannot be negative towards their competition.

iATN’s mission is to promote the continued growth, success and image of the professional automotive technician by providing a forum for the exchange of knowledge and the promotion of education, professionalism, and integrity. If you’re interested in joining iATN, read more about us.
