« Configuring Security Software | Configuring ZoneAlarm Pro for iATN Browsing |
ZoneAlarm Pro can cause problems when viewing certain areas of iATN, depending on how tight your security and privacy settings are. This page will show you how to configure it to allow you to browse iATN unhindered, while not changing your security settings for any other internet sites. Please review our Privacy Policy if you are concerned about these changes.
Note that these changes pertain to ZoneAlarm Pro 3.0 or above, which we highly recommend.
- Open up ZoneAlarm's configuration window by double-clicking on
its icon in your taskbar. Click on the "Privacy" tab (usually
on the bottom/left side of the window). You should see a window
similar to the one below. Then click on the "Site List"
tab, as indicated by the red arrow:
- Now you should see a window like the one below. (Your window might
have several domains already listed in the table below ... those
are sites you've visited recently.) You want to click the "Add"
button indicated by the red arrow:
- A window like the one below will pop up. Enter "members.iatn.net"
in the text field, and press OK.
- Press the "Add" button again, and this time enter "iatn.net,"
and press OK. Now your site list should look something like the
window below. Again, your site list may actually have other domains
listed, but you should now see iatn.net and members.iatn.net in
the list as well. Notice that those two domains have a pencil icon
in the "Edited" column -- this means they will be saved
in your site list. Any rows without those icons will be erased when
ZoneAlarm restarts.
- Now right-click on the iatn.net row, and select
"Options" from the popup menu. You will see a window like
the one below. Adjust the checkboxes so that they match the ones
below, especially being sure to turn off the checkbox indicated
by the red arrow. Then select the "Ad Blocking" tab indicated
by the green arrow.
- You should now see a window like the one below. You will want
to configure your settings to match those below (disabling the checkboxes
in the "Ad to Block" section). This is necessary to avoid
certain pages and links on iATN from disappearing or appearing "blank."
Once you've made these changes, press the OK button.
- Now go back to step 5 and perform the same steps for "members.iatn.net" instead of "iatn.net."
When that is all finished, you will have configured ZoneAlarm Pro to avoid any known problems using iATN, without altering any of your security settings for other sites on the internet. If you have questions about your privacy on iATN, please read our Privacy Policy.
You can now return to the Security Help page, or to the main Help section.
