programming new VIN to used bcm for GM
Posted to Technical Discussion Forum on 12/5/2013 27 Replies

I am new to IATN. I have purchased several computers to program cars and light trucks in the Gallatin, TN area as there are only dealership options open to repair shops right now and they require long towing as everything here is very spread out. I am using CardaqM, Tech2, and Ford IDS. (this question is related to GM so the Tech2 would be my main source because even with Tech2software in the CardaqM the Tech2 seems to work better on GM) I can program most pcm's with no problem but when tying to program used bcm to a different VIN number many will not let me change VIN only options. does anyone know of a way to change VIN on a used BCM. let me state that I would never try to replace a BCM with anything other than a BCM with the same part number and calibration as the original.
