As a diagnostician, I found out early on that I needed my own equipment; besides the basic hand tools and shop supplied scanner. In our contemporary world, manufacturer- specific scan tools and other specialty diagnostic equipment is often required. As such, I employ the use of a four channel labscope and various OEM scan tools and a SAE J2534 reprogramming interface in my arsenal.
