Perform day to day hoist and equipment safety inspection prior carrying assigned task. Maintain personal tools and equipment in good condition.
Remove and refit major components and assemblies as per JLR criteria and Recall action such as;
· Engine Balance shafts
· Transfer case conditioning/ renewal as assembly
· Turbo assembly, Engine assembly/ Transmission replacement
· Airbag recalls (inflatable modules and pretensioners)
· Underchassis include suspension sub components assemblies or fitting of updated replacement components
· Meticulous removal and renewal of vehicles critical Interior and exterior body components
Carry out service & repair procedures unassisted, source relevant instructions use SSTs and technical information as required.
Diagnose vehicle issues using SDD, measuring equipment & technical information.
· Electrical fault diagnosis using oscilloscope
· Repair or overlay electrical wirings
· NVH diagnosis, components testing using IDU2 test equipment/ accessories.
Carry out repairs that are outside scope of standard workshop operations listed in workshop manual following JLR approved repair methods (i.e. harness repairs)
Perform Airconditioning general diagnostic and repairs as follows;
· Perform vehicles AC system test leak
· Vacuuming and replenish of refrigerant with reference to standard operating procedures, after components renewal (TXV, Evaporator, Condenser, Compressor etc.)
· Conduct electrical diagnosis of Vehicle comfort system using standard tools, Oscilloscope and scantools.
Diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues using all resources available if necessary, e.g PICOSCOPE, IDU2 and handheld oscilloscope.
· Acquire complex vehicle software files prior for raising technical support.
· Vehicle computer programming, re-flashing of module using manual patch file; updating vehicle software program as required using designated programming tools or web based diagnostic platform (T4/ SDD/ Pathfinder or IDU2).
Vehicle aftermarket accessories installations, such as follow;
· Fitting of bull bar, OEM deployable side steps
· add-on fog lights and exterior lightings
· trailer brake kit installation
· RF radio installations
· GPS/ Tracker aftermarket installation kit
· Auxilliary batteries.
· Fitting of All Terrain Tires
· Iron Man Coil Spring Installation and Fittings
Volkswagen Technician Duties
Ø Perform day to day hoist and equipment safety inspection prior.
Ø Carry out periodic service maintenance, eg. Engine oil change, transfercase/ transmission fluids and filter; Brakes service; Timing belt renewal.
Ø Perform Pre-delivery inspections.
Ø Diagnose vehicle concerns using ODIS diagnostic platform and carried out fault finding according to generated Test Plan or TPI.
Ø Repair, adjust and replace faulty mechanical parts with reference to VW service information (ELSA Pro).
Ø Perform Engine Top overhauling, Engine rebuild and transmission renewal with reference to VW technical specifications.
Ø Renewal and initialization of transmission mechatronics.
Ø Perform Diagnosis, fault finding and component testing on vehicle airconditioning, thus includes refrigerant evacuation, regassing/ replenish.
