Automotive/Equipment Technician
Maintain, diagnose and repair Public works fleet of vehicles consisting of everything from weed trimmers to class 8 tractor trailers including construction, agricultural tractors, turf equipment, paint stripers, street sweepers, jet rodders and miscellaneous gas and diesel powered implements.
Lead Technician
Supervises and participates in the performance of preventative maintenance, servicing, replacement or repair of parts and components of city fleet vehicles and equipment.
Keep records of maintenance performed and contracted out.
Keep mechanic records of hours used and mileage.
Maintain inventory of parts and equipment used.
Review expenditures for parts and service.
Assist departments with other maintenance needs and services.
Shop Foreman
Lead Technician duties.
Diesel emissions compliance coordinator.
Establish and instruct CDL/Forklift training programs for all public works employees.
Maintain shop technical library.
Identify and purchase necessary tools and equipment for shop.
Aid in the vehicle and equipment procurement process.
Establish and maintain an in house technical training program.
