Passively Looking for Technician jobs and is willing to relocate for the right position.
High percentage in fix right the first time. Comebacks not an issue. Its normal for me to complete all the tasks it takes to have a complete and successful repair order. Greet customer and input their info and concerns into computer and print the ro. Verify customer concerns, diagnose, callback with an estimate of repairs and get approval for said repairs. When work is completed contact customer for vehicle pick-up and collect the funds when they do. I keep a clean and organized work area at all times. I still like doing heavy line work. I have an associates degree from universal technical institute, recertified ase technician, kia master technician at one point, state of michigan mechanic certifications, emmisions state inspector in houston, tx. The past couple of years i have been subcontracting jobs for a couple of shops when needed and taking care of my customer clientele. One of my goals is to be able to reach a manufacturer master technician level in four or five different car lines.
Tools and Equipment
I like the matco touchscreen/ bluetooth/ wifi scanner. Also use the snap-on modis and solus.
Currently i go in and help when they call if its the normal small repairs. The heavy line repairs are subcontracted and i tow vehicle to my shop to do repairs.
Part time work at a machine shop. Disassemble and inspect all types of combustion engines that a customer drops off. Cylinder head services. Every now and then r@r engine assemblies in vehicle.
The normal duties it takes to complete the work order. Verify customer concerns and diagnose vehicle issues. Discuss ro with service writer and repair vehicle at customers request. Verify repair fixed the problem and move on to next one.
Fleet of 45-60 garbage trucks and 8 garbage container haulers. At start of shift walk the lot and check tire pressures. Record values and match them to the previous day. If tire pressure is within 20% then just top it off to spec. If over 20% difference than previous day, a leak test had to be completed and repairs made. Keeping a very specific logbook of every tire touched everyday. All tires had to be within dot spec by 4:30am m-sat. 22-11/r and 24" tire sizes
