Candidate #1735 Technician in Richland, Washington
Passively Looking for Consultant jobs and is willing to relocate for the right position.
My career journey began in 1998 at a local fast lube shop, where I first learned how to provide customers with quality vehicle inspections and recommended upsells of products and services. It was a great first “shop” job because I not only had to learn about sales and customer service, but the company’s standard operating procedures were designed for the facility to be able to perform between 50 and 60 full service oil changes in a single day and never ever leave not one oil cap off or drain plug loose. To achieve this every service was smoothly performed the exact same way every time using a call and response system. This mindset stayed with me my entire career and set my path to providing excellent quality auto repairs. It was my stepping stone to a job at a full service repair shop where I worked as a technician as I completed two years at Columbia Basin College in their Automotive repair technology program. I have since worked as a technician at various independently owned repair shops, a used car dealership as well as new car dealerships, (as a service technician at Toyota and as a Service Advisor at Hyundai) and I’ve also installed tires at tire stores including Les Schwab. Unfortunately I haven’t stayed anywhere for very long and my goal is to find an employer that is willing to invest in my further training and education if I should fall short of expectations.
Other career highlights: I served as a judge for Skills USA (formerly VICA) automotive competitions held at CBC in 2008-09. I hosted six car care clinics in 2011, for which I created and gave a power point presentation that educated consumers about car care.

Service Advisor
2012–2013
I delivered excellent customer service as a service advisor here. I also was solely responsible for the service department operations every Saturday, leading a smaller team consisting of one lube technician, one technician, one lot attendant and one parts department clerk. This was the job I enjoyed the most in my career, and I believe if I had been given proper further training I could’ve really excelled in this position and would’ve stayed employed for this company. I gained experience using the dealertrak software. I would like to obtain a job like this again at a dealership where I will stay the course and be successful at not just keeping the job but also doing the job well for many many years before finally retiring.
