I have a passion for diagnostics overall. I most enjoy diagnosing complicated electrical problems. I also have a passion for repairing classic and modern European cars. My whole career I have been very motivated to learn as much as I can. I started out as an apprentice at 14 years old and worked my way up to rebuilding transmissions before moving to Madison to find new opportunities. In Madison I went to tech school, learned how to use an oscilloscope, interpret waveforms, and found a job that allowed me to use all my skills. I was also able to quench my thirst for knowledge by learning about and repairing all kinds of unique, classic European automotive systems. I even had the opportunity of taking ownership of this shop, and build a reputation for myself. Now the time has come where I have been re-evaluating my life choices. I’m going to be 38 at the end of 2021, and I have a family. After 7 years of business ownership, I’m ready for my next adventure. Business management is not something that satisfies my technical mind. Being my entire family is ready for a change, we have decided to travel the country in a camper, and just step back a while. We are very willing and excited to possibly relocate somewhere new to us. When and where we settle will just depend on what opportunities we may find.

I have experience with Pico and Snap-On DSOs. I am very familiar with Autel and Iscan software. I also have a BMW ICOM w/adapters and am very comfortable with ISTA software. I’ve got plenty of BMW, Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce tools such as valvetronic spring compressor, cam timing tools, brake/chassis-hydraulic pressure tester, etc etc. I also have a large tool box (not sure length but must be larger than my wing span) and rolling cart full of hand tools.

Owner/Diagnostician/Mechanic

2008–Present

Started out as mechanic. Within 1 year became my own service writer. Answer calls, estimate/schedule work, inspect and diagnose cars, perform repair work. Worked on classic and modern brands such as BMW, Audi, Porsche, VW, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Lotus, Austin-Healey, MG, Triumph, Leyland-Mini, Alfa-Romeo, Fiat and more. Rebuilt engines, manual and automatic gearboxes, head gaskets, timing chains, etc. I purchased the business in 2014, and moved it from Regent St to Seybold Rd in 2015. The business transformed somewhat and became known for BMW diagnostic and programming. Many clients were other repair shops.

Student - Technical Diploma

2007–2009

Learned electrical diagnostic and how all other automotive systems work.

Mechanic

1999–2008

This is where I apprenticed and honed my mechanical aptitude. Started with fluid changes cleaning internal parts, and removing/installing RWD and 4WD transmissions. In two years I was removing/installing FWD transmissions and replacing clutches. Ended with rebuilding GM automatic transmissions. Left shop to move to Madison, WI and gain education and experience in import cars.

Mechanic

2008–2008

Oil change and tire bitch. Did not last long. Used to be upset my time was wasted here, but reflectively it was during the 2008 crash and work became incredibly slow right after I was hired. Stuck it out 5 months before finding Foreign Car Specialists.

Student - Associates Degree

2005–2007

General degree, wasn’t sure I was going to stay in the automotive industry at the time.
