Description
From:
The 6.0L IPR Air Test Tool was developed with the purpose of addressing a common problem encountered on the 6.0L Ford Powerstroke Engine. Owners of these vehicles often complain of a hard / no hot start condition which is almost universally caused by a high pressure oil leak. The conventional method of locating the leak (using shop air applied at the ICP sensor port) has several difficulties. First is that the IPR valve does not seal completely which creates a distracting air noise making it difficult to audibly locate the real leak. Secondly, back-flow preventer valves which are incorporated in the latest updated standpipe design mean that only one side of the engine is being tested. The 6.0L IPR Air Test Tool is designed to address both problems, allowing the entire high pressure oil system to be tested from one connection point in less than 20 minutes while eliminating distracting air leaks through the IPR. A separate adapter allows the tool to be used with the 7.3L Powerstroke engine.

The conventional method of locating the leak (using shop air applied at the ICP sensor port) has several difficulties. A separate adapter allows the tool to be used with the 7.3L Powerstroke engine also.
