I also have this tool. I had the screen replaced within the first six months due to unresponsive touch on right half of screen. Also, Battery was replaced shortly thereafter due to very quick discharge. The charging cradle was als replaced. Nowadays I just charge unit by connecting directly to charging port on unit itself bypassing charge cradle. My subscription expired by now but I get by with the Autel scanner which I think, is better. The Read more...

I bought my Matco/Launch Maximus in 2016, over the years I have had serveral issues with my touch screen not being able to proceed to the next screen when I touch confirm at the lower right hand side of the touch screen. I have call Matco Tools and also talked to Launch about this issues I am having. They both said that they were taking care of this at no cost for a period of time. Funny thing though, I never was contacted by either entities. Read more...

The scanner overall is fair as far as coverage and vehicle application. I purchased it with the TPMS tool which is not comparable with the scanner. Big downside!!!!! If and only if you can keep from breaking the contact pins on the charging station, which keeps you from charging the unit, I would give it one more star. For the price it's a good scanner. Do your research before you buy any scanner.

I had the Maximus 2.0 for two years, like anything there is pros and cons with this tool. I will start by saying the tablet is very attractive and feels economical. The obd1 adapters are very useful and come in a very well put together molded case. There is plenty of add ons that make this tool powerful, like a bore scope, oscilloscope, sensor box and battery tester. That being said this tool has absolutely zero support! Matco can not help with a Read more...

This Maximus scanner is a brick. After my update subscription was up it started locking me out of using it. Now 2 years after the subscription was up I can’t even scan a thing! It is like Matco came up with a better wrench and told me I can’t use the older set because they don’t make money on it. I will finish paying for it. But I will never do business with them again. That is bad because I have a lot of there tools and toolbox. If I could give Read more...

This is not a very good scanner. Had one for a year or two. We had to send it in 2 times for screen problems. Autel scanner is way better . maxisys elite is what I'm using now and I love this thing!

I tried a demo Maximus a year ago and it was alright. I liked the scanner overall but not for the price point it was offered at. Well, I tried a demo unit again this year and got a lot of use from it this time around. I was offered to buy it at a competitive price and decided to jump on it. Not sure if older ones were Windows based but this Maximus 2.0 is Android based. I work exclusively on European cars and so far the scanner has done what I n Read more...

This scanner is based off of Launch X431 software but uses a Windows platform. At the time I purchased mine, bluetooth connectivity was just starting to become mainstream. Compared to the earlier launch scanners its not half way bad. I like the fact there is a browser so I can leave it in the cradle at my toolbox and search for information on IATN or google while I am scanning the vehicle. The sensorbox option is great as it is a sensor emulator. Read more...

Maximus 1.0.

Also, the worst I have ever purchased. It roughly imitates the Verus in size and looks. I was excited at first because it was Windows 7 and Verus was still XP. I thought it was going to be fast and easier to use. No way. The updates came for a year and didn't fix much. Read more...
