R.O. Writer Progressive Automotive Systems - Norm Spurgeon, Owner at Norm's Auto Repair
I would have to mirror the comments stated by Danny from Canyon Automotive. We changed from NAPA TRACS and have had RO Writer for 12 years. We changed because TRACS was NAPA specific and RO Writer was supposed to handle any supplier. We've have had numerous crashes, updates, system upgrades, replaced all of our computers twice, replaced our network switches, had RO Writer support remote in many, many, many times, have spoken directly with the he Read more...
Direct-Shop IDENTIFIX - Gregory V Martin, Owner at GM Truck & Auto Service
The standard direct shop isn't very cool. You can't link it to your parts suppliers and so it's not a very good shop management program.I can't get Direct-Shop Elite in Ohio for some funky reason. Since I'v got it bundled with my-direct hit it's pretty cheap though.
MaxiSys 908CV Autel - Matt Herold, Consultant/Technical Information Specialist at Alldata
*****UPDATE***** THERE HAS BEEN MULTIPLE UPDATES SINCE THIS FIRST WRITTEN. I NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO GET INTO WHAT ALL WAS ADDED AND RECENTLY LEFT THAT SHOP, 07/09/18***** I haven't had as much time I wanted with this tool before I wrote this, but here is a thus far update. Read more...
Direct-Shop IDENTIFIX - Anthony Lallo, Shop Foreman/Owner at Lallos Automotive
Do not bother with this software. I got tired of the shopkey problems so I gave this a try. No free trial period so we bit the bullet and signed up for a year. They rush you to get it installed and then after they transferred data over and we were online and ready, no more contact no emails no phone calls to see how you like it. Well how do I like it? It sucks all the way around. If you have used alldata or shopkey you will be lost in this mess. Read more...

Bosch has released a new series of scan tools for the US market, the 10" ADS-625 and the 7" ADS-325. Both tools are engineered and assembled in the USA. The user interface is intuitive and well laid out. Overall the scan tool is very easy to use. Read more...
ProDemand Mitchell 1 - Dave Morris, Owner/Manager at Morris Automotive
I have had Mitchell for most of my automotive career 30 years. It was good before snap on bought them and took over. No i can honesty say it is worthless!! It takes forever to find anything. I have contacted our rep and he made an appt to come out and show use how to use the system. He canceled the appt and i never heard from him again. It is faster to call them and give them the information your looking for and let them figure it out. Would n Read more...
ProDemand Mitchell 1 - Jody Beach, Owner/Technician at Beach Automotive
I have used ProDemand for years. It is hard to navigate. Yet while it is hard to navigate it also has the most useful information. We also your the Manager side and that plus the wiring diagrams makes the hard navigation worth it. Our parts ordering electronically online has made 100% right part first time order. Well unless parts puller gets the numbers backwards.
ProDemand Mitchell 1 - Jeff Beckwith, Owner/Technician at Beckwith's Auto
I wish I had seen these bad reviews sooner. Used the product (well sort of used it. Ended up using Identifix for most things as it is MUCH better laid out) for a month of my "60 day free trial" and told them thanks but no thanks. Now it's a monthly battle as they keep charging my card.
ProDemand Mitchell 1 - Richard Morin, Owner at Motorcar Alternatives, LLC
My experience with ProDemand is largely good. I do have trouble finding things from time to time. The wiring diagrams are awesome. Anytime the info is not yet in the system I simply call in and within an hour it is emailed to me.
ProDemand Mitchell 1 - Dean Crittenden, Owner at Crittenden's Garage
We have used Prodemand for years and have been satisfied with the product and services, I've only posted this to inform others reading this post that its possible the issues mentioned by the other posts may be a localized issue and not systemic
